On April 4, 2024, I, Sarai Hannah Ajai, henceforth referred to as "the Complainant," received a text message around 5:30 pm purportedly from the Illinois Toll Way, indicating a charge of $12.20 on my record. However, I have no recollection of ever establishing an Illinois Toll Way account. Notably, I have neither owned a vehicle since November 2009 nor been a resident of Illinois since 2019. I am deeply concerned that someone may be unlawfully utilizing my personal identifiable information ("PII") and mobile phone number to fraudulently establish an Illinois Toll Way account without my consent. Additionally, I had observed discrepancies between the legitimate Illinois Toll Way website and the one associated with the suspicious communication, suggesting the latter may be part of an unlawful predatory solicitation scam. I would greatly appreciate your prompt investigation into this matter.
