1. Date and Time of Incident
December 21, 2025, between approximately 12:41 PM and 12:56 PM (local time)
2. Location
Apartment complex property, Apartment Unit 2**, including interior living space and bathroom area.
3. Description of Incident
On December 21, 2025, between approximately 12:41 PM and 12:56 PM, I briefly left my apartment unit (Unit 2**) to take household trash to the exterior trash bin and then immediately returned to my front door. This time period represents the only interval during which my apartment was unattended.
On December 23, 2025, while performing routine household cleaning, I discovered that one right-hand rubber cleaning glove was missing. This glove had been consistently stored inside a mop bucket beneath the bathroom sink for more than seven (7) years. The last confirmed use of this glove was on December 18, 2025, when I cleaned the bathroom. The glove has not been located since.
No authorization was given to any person to enter my apartment during this time period. I did not loan, duplicate, or otherwise distribute keys to my apartment unit to any tenant, staff member, or third party.
Although I maintain indoor surveillance cameras and motion-detection devices, I later discovered that one security device (a SwitchBot camera) required a reset on December 23, 2025. This is consistent with a temporary interruption of electrical service or my ************ Communications, Inc. (“*****”) home internet service, which could have disabled monitoring during the relevant time frame.
4. Key Facts Asserted by the Reporting Party
To the best of my knowledge and recollection:
• I am the sole lawful occupant of Apartment Unit 2**.
• I was originally issued one set of keys only (apartment door, garage foyer entrance, and laundry room).
• Following a prior security incident, my apartment and garage locks were legally changed in January 2020.
• I have never authorized any tenant, staff member, or third party to duplicate or possess keys to my apartment.
• The missing item was stored in a fixed, rarely accessed location and had not been relocated by me.
5. Basis for Concern
My concern arises from:
• The narrow time window in which the apartment was unattended.
• The disappearance of a long-stored household item without my consent.
• Prior incidents involving unauthorized entry and theft from my apartment.
• Indications that surveillance systems may have been temporarily disabled or interrupted.
• The unresolved question of how duplicate keys to my apartment could exist without my authorization.
Important note: I am documenting the disappearance of property and the surrounding circumstances. I am not asserting the identity of any specific individual as the perpetrator. This report is intended to preserve facts and request appropriate review.
6. Prior Related Incidents (Reporting Party Statement)
Several months prior, my apartment unit was unlawfully entered, resulting in the theft of household items, including:
• A large quantity of Tide laundry detergent
• An unopened container of Downy Unstopables Fresh laundry scent booster
• All kitchen utensils (forks, spoons, knives)
• Food items
As a result, I was required to repurchase essential household items at my own expense.
7. Questions for Property Management / Verification Inquiry
I am requesting clarification and written confirmation regarding the following:
1. Who currently has authorized access to keys for Apartment Unit 2**.
2. Whether any duplicate keys have been created, issued, or logged since January 2020.
3. What internal controls exist to prevent unauthorized key duplication or access.
4. Whether maintenance or staff entry occurred on December 21, 2025, between 12:41 PM and 12:56 PM.
5. What steps will be taken to ensure the security of my apartment going forward.
8. Absence of Authorization or Lawful Entry
• I did not authorize entry into my apartment during the stated time period.
• I was not notified of any maintenance visit or emergency entry.
• I have not consented to key duplication or shared access.
• Any entry occurring during this time was without my knowledge or consent.
9. Evidence and Documentation Notes (To Be Completed by Reporting Party)
• Photographs of apartment interior and bathroom area
• Photographs of cleaning supplies storage location
• Smart-lock access logs
• Surveillance device status and reset records
• Prior incident documentation (if requested)
10. Actions Taken
• Documented the date, time, and circumstances of the incident.
• Reviewed security device status and logs.
• Preserved photographs and records.
• Prepared this incident report for potential submission to:
o Property management (security and access review)
o Local law enforcement (unlawful entry documentation)
o Housing or regulatory agencies (tenant safety concerns)
o Legal counsel, if necessary
11. Statement of Accuracy
I affirm that the information contained in this report is true and correct to the best of my knowledge and recollection. This report documents observable facts, the absence of authorization, and requests for verification. It is not intended to assert legal conclusions without proper investigation.
