USPS Informed Delivery Discrepancy and Missing Mail

I. SUMMARY OF INCIDENT

On February 21, 2026, I experienced a discrepancy between a USPS Informed Delivery email notification and the actual contents of my federally protected residential mailbox.

On February 20, 2026, I received a USPS Informed Delivery email notification stating: “Your mail has been delivered today, February 20!” (See Exhibit A).

On February 21, 2026, at approximately 3:57 PM, I went to physically check my residential mailbox (Mailbox No. **5). At that time, the mailbox was completely empty, and no USPS-delivered mail or documents were present. I documented the condition of the mailbox with photographs (See Exhibit B).

Immediately after observing the empty mailbox, I returned to my apartment and logged into my USPS Informed Delivery account to verify delivery details. Upon review of my account dashboard, the system indicated that no USPS mail deliveries were scheduled or recorded for the relevant delivery period, which was inconsistent with the prior email notification stating that mail had been delivered (See Exhibit C).

 

II. CONCERNS

This incident raises concerns regarding:

• Accuracy and integrity of USPS Informed Delivery notifications

• Possible misdelivery, loss, or interference with federally protected mail

• Security of the residential mail delivery environment

I am not asserting a specific cause or alleging misconduct. This report is submitted to document the discrepancy, preserve evidence, and request appropriate review.
